本文提出 OWL-S 的 Profile 為 BPEL 做 annotation,使 BPEL 能增加更多 semantic information,且能在現有的 OWL-S/UDDI matchmaker 註冊與搜尋。預期優點如下:1) matchmaker 能用 ontology 描述 service 的profile 搜尋 service,幫user找到適合的 service(s)。2) Service provider 能提供更多 information,使 user 了解 service,當 user 看到後,可更快、更清楚地知道這個 service 是不是想要用的。3) 使用 OWL 讓網路上的 applications 容易溝通,OWL 是以XML為基礎定義的 markup language,因此applications 溝通較容易。
This paper presents OWL-S profile to annotate BPEL with semantic information, which can be registered and searched using existing OWL-S/UDDI matchmaker. The expected benefits are: 1) the matchmaker uses profile with ontology to help user find suitable service(s); 2) the service provider gives more information for users to quickly learn whether the service is what he/she really wants; 3) the XML-based OWL is used that facilitates communication among applications.
