現今以802.11為主的無線區域網路技術,歷經數十年的發展,技術已經非常成熟,因此無論在速度、價格上都具有相當大吸引力,且其應用與發展空間已從早期的特定環境、中期的企業內部網路,到現在則朝向公眾網路及家庭網路方向蓬勃發展。如今在機場、旅館、咖啡館、速食店等公共場所,到處都可以看到PWLAN公眾無線區域網路的存在,並且由於隨著網路的蓬勃發展趨勢,無線網路上的應用範圍也愈趨向多元化,除了傳統的數據資料之外,語音、影像等多媒體資料都將在網路上傳遞,為了能同時處理這些不同特性的資料,無線網路必須具備確保服務品質的機制。
因此如何保障即時訊務較強的多媒體應用如VoWLAN,QoS等問題將相對的日顯突出。802.11e的MAC標準模式即是以WLAN提供服務等級分類的機制。本篇論文主要的研究重點在探討透過802.11e使用對應(Mapping)到差異性服務等級 (DiffServ)的DSCP(DiffServ Code Point) 在訊務流瓶頸處提供Policy-based QoS管理機制,透過此一方式當使優先等級較高的訊務能得到較高的服務效能。
For the past decade the technology improvement on the 802.11 based Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) has become more mutual, therefore not only the speed and price giving it great attraction, the application and usage area have been upgrade from specific environment to internal enterprise networking and now heading to Public Wireless Local Area Network (PWLAN) development.You can notice the PWLAN exist in most public area like airport、hotel、coffee shop and fast food store.
Besides the traditional data exchange, the network usage has been used on other application, such as voice and video. All this application is not for the wired networking only, it also applied to the wireless networking. To process all the different characters information, we need to have reliable mechanism to ensure the quality of service.
Therefore the subject to discuss the real-time data exchange over wireless networking for multimedia application becomes more and more. This paper is meanly to discover the 801.11e, the MAC standard protocol over wireless networking, to give higher priority process the best efficiency of usage mapping and differential service level in the join of data flow.
