隨著無線網路的發展,帶給我們生活上莫大的便利。由於多媒體的應用在近年有爆炸性的成長,如何保證即時性(real-time)較強的多媒體應用(例如隨選視訊、線上會議以及Voice on IP等等)的服務品質(Quality of Service,QoS)問題變得日益突出。
IEEE 802.11 working group為了支援服務品質保證(Quality of Service,QoS),制定了802.11 MAC協定的增強機制,稱為802.11e[2]。在802.11e提出了混合式協調功能(Hybrid Coordination Function,HCF),包括了以輪詢為基礎的HCF通道存取機制(HCCA)和以分散競爭為基礎的EDCF通道存取機制(EDCA)1。
本文利用計算碰撞率得知目前網路狀況的方法,將通道負載分成高、低兩種不同的負載,使用不同的機制。在低通道負載時,採用原本的EDCA機制;在高負載時,讓不同優先權訊務使用不同處理方式,藉由倒退時間的選擇,使高負載時碰撞的機會降低,達到減少空閒時間及碰撞的發生以增加效能。
