This study aims to explore the relationships among work events, psychological capital, positive/negative affect, job engagement, and withdrawal behaviors. Data are collected through online survey from 326 full-time employees. The results show that job uplifts are positively related to positive affect and negatively related to negative affect.
Besides, job hassles are negatively related to positive affect and positively related to negative affect. Employee psychological capital is positively related to positive affect and negatively related to negative affect. Positive affect is positively related to
employee job engagement and negatively related to withdrawal behavior. Negative affect is negatively related to employee job engagement and positively related to withdrawal behavior. Drawn on these findings, managerial implications and suggestions for future research are thus discussed.
