第三代行動通訊系統(3G)和無線區域網路(WLAN)已經成為現在的市場主流,而且行政院國家資訊通訊發展推動小組(NICI)也成立「iB3G雙網整合辦公室」,來規劃出第三代行動通訊系統和無線區域網路相互整合的方式,來達到雙網合一的計畫。因為目前大家對於以無線的方式來傳輸資料愈來愈需要,然而在第三代行動通訊系統最高只能提供2Mb的傳輸速率,而無線區域網路的傳輸速率最高卻能傳輸到54Mb, 再加上第三代行動通訊系統它的涵蓋範圍相當廣大,但是傳輸速度慢,而無線區域網路它的涵蓋範圍較小,但是傳輸速度快,所以我們就可以分別取其優缺點,達到雙網合一的計畫,讓廣大的使用者可以享受更便利的使用。本篇論文所提出的在異質性網路架構下之QoS-based允入控制,可以藉由其允入控制來調整我們的雙網系統內的服務,讓兩個系統內的有效使用率提高以及藉由QoS mapping讓兩個系統原本的訊務服務可以在經過換手後可以盡量擁有原本所需的QoS服務要求,而不會有太大的差異。
