Nowadays, organizations are facing changing requirements. Dynamic capability is playing a critical role in helping organizations survive in rapidly changing environments. However, what kind of organizational orientation can enhance dynamic capability? Prior research proved that program orientation can coordinate projects appropriately and respond changes quickly. This research tries to explore the relationship between program orientation and dynamic capability, and we divide dynamic capability in two parts, technical fitness and evolutionary fitness which represent internal dynamic capability and external dynamic capability individually. We also discuss shared vision and social integration that may effects program orientation individually.
This research collects empirical data from 125 manufacturing firms in Taiwan and analyzes the data with SmartPLS. The result shows that shared vision and social integration have positive impact on program orientation, and program orientation are positively associated with technical fitness and evolutionary fitness.
