由於我們探索木星的大氣,發現了木星極光中帶有一些碳氫化合物,因此推測其大氣層中有各種不同的有機分子,例如:CH3C2H、C3H8、及C6H6等,其中C3H4的光化學最不清楚,因缺少實驗室數據。C3H4有兩種不同的異構物,一種是丙炔(methylacetylene),另一種為丙二烯(propadiene),雖然這兩種異構物的化學式一樣,但其性質與光譜不盡相同。
本論文之中以同步輻射光源作為實驗的激發光源,瞭解丙炔在105-230nm波長與丙二稀在105-220nm波長範圍內的吸收情形,我們就以其不同性質去研究此兩種異構物的真空紫外光譜,並以其吸收圖形中之峰值,來定義其雷德堡態與震動級數之分佈。本論文之結果將瞭解C3H4的光化學及任何木星大氣中已形成與分解有所幫助。
