In the thesis we mainly discuss n-type electron transport organic semiconductor materials. We have synthesized a series of dianhydride-based compounds with oxidative photochemical ring closure structure, which we called “ polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).” For increasing the solubility of those compounds, we transform the anhydride moieties into alkyl imide group. The following figures show the structure of the materials. Moreover, we try to increase the number of fused-rings and hopefully this kind of materials will show semiconducting properties. All of these compounds have been characterized and analyzed via thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), cyclic voltametry (CV), power X-ray diffraction (PXD), and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
