為了在無線網路802.11上提供服務品質保證(Quality of Service---簡稱QoS),IEEE 802.11 Group E提出了802.11e,一個延伸自802.11的QoS-ware鏈結層協定,用以確保多媒體訊務的品質能夠得到保證。在802.11e提出了混合式協調功能(Hybrid Coordination Function,HCF),包括了以輪詢為基礎的HCF通道存取機制(HCCA)和以分散競爭為基礎的EDCF通道存取機制(EDCA)1,在這篇論文則只探討EDCF的效能改進。
目前已有相當多針對於改善802.11 服務品質的相關研究,其中(AEDCF)這篇論文[1]希望根據當下的網路狀況動態的調整競爭視窗,進而減少及時訊務所可能遭受到的碰撞。然而此方法與EDCF在高通道負載的情況下皆會因為大幅度的碰撞而導致效能的快速下滑,因此本論文將延伸(AEDCF)的方法動態的調整競爭參數並且做適當修改,確保無論在何種通道負載下皆能夠保護高優先權訊務,並且使得整體網路效能維持在一定水準。
本文將利用network simulator version-2這套模擬軟體來驗證此方法的效能。
