Two main topic are studied in this research. One is the synthesis
of ZSM-5 on ceramic fiber paper. The other is the synthesis of the
catalysis of Au/CeO2 on ceramic fiber paper.
In the synthesis of ZSM-5 on ceramic fiber paper, hydrothermal
method was applied. By XRD pattern, it proves that the ZSM-5
crystal coated on the surface. However, SEM photographs show that
ceramic fibers are not completely covered with ZSM-5. Ceramic fiber
paper after acid treatment provides more nucleation sites. The
ceramic fibers are completely covered by an uniform layer of well
shaped ZSM-5 crystals after 10 hours heating at 170~190℃. Finally,
the cumene cracking reaction test manifests that ZSM-5 on ceramic
fiber paper show good activity.
Synthesis of the catalytic Au/CeO2 on ceramic fiber paper is the
goal of second part study. Sol-gel method was used to synthesize
CeO2 on ceramic fiber paper. The ceramic fiber paper was soaked in
the precursor solution for several minutes and several times. There
are six factors investigated for the synthesis : the time and the
temperature of precursor aged, the acid concentration of precursor,
the time for soaking fiber paper in the precursor, the times for coated
fibers and the temperature of calcinations. The precursor solution is
stable for 2-3 months. By SEM photographs and XRD patterns show
that the CeO2 cover the ceramic fiber completely and the particle size
of CeO2 is 10-20 nano meter. Finally, we use the
deposition-precipitation method to load Au on the CeO2/fiber paper.
The color change of CeO2 coated paper and EDX analysis, it show
successful for loading Au on CeO2/fiber paper.
