Cancer is a group of disease characterized by uncontrollable growth and spread of abnormal cells. In Taiwan, cancer is the first most common cause of death in the past few years. The standardized mortality rate for cancer was 131.6 deaths/100,000 people in 2010. The breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among Taiwanese woman. Preclinical and clinical data suggest complex associations between diabetes and a number of studies have indicated that diabetes is associated with higher mortality in patients with breast cancer. There are no population-based data on hospitalization rate for toxicity from breast cancer chemotherapy in Taiwan. According to above reason, our research will focus on following items: First, the number of breast cancer patients with diabetes. Second, the survival state of patients with diabetes. Third, the hospitalization state of patients received chemotherapy.
